 THE JOURNEY

Omotara went to her hostel mistress to ask if her parents have called. She was supposed to go with them to the States for their 18th wedding anniversary celebration but its still school season and her final examination is fast approaching. So they promise to take her along after the examination. Omotara is in boarding school, so she have no access to making call, that's why she went to her house mistress if she has been contacted by her parents.

Mr and Mrs Alonge have been married for the past 18 years and after 3 years of waiting, they finally welcome Omotara into the family.  In spite of the fact that she is the only child of her wealthy parents, they didn't pamper her. She was enrolled in boarding school as soon as she got into the senior secondary school, although it took long before she get used to the system, but eventually she did.

Good evening ma, Omotara greeted her hostel mistress. Welcome my dear, how may I help you? Ma, I have come to ask if mum and dad called? Oh dear! They called before their flight took off. And that was early this morning, I am sure that by now they should be in the States. Don't worry dear, I will let you know as soon as I hear from them. She told Omotara. Yes ma, just that I have been feeling uneasy since morning, I don't know why. Omotara replied. Don't worry dear, your parents are fine. Is that why you have not been eating since morning? It came to my notice that you have not been eatimg since, you dont need it my dear, you just go now  and get yourself something to eat before dinner will be served. OK ma, thank you, Omotara answered feeling relieved.

Omotara walked slowly towards to her hostel as the thought of her parents flashed into her mind. She remembered when she saw them last, that was on her school's visiting day. She remembered their promise to take her to any part of the world she wants if she can study hard and come out with good grades, and some other promises. She also remembered the last time her parents told her about their trip on phone, every of those thought keeps coming to her mind. I don't know why I'm missing mum and dad this way, I just hope they are fine, she said to herself as she finally reached her hostel.

Omotara! Come and see something, Temitoyin exclaimed, but to her surprise her bunk mate was just staring at her. What's wrong Omotara? You look worried, Temitoyin asked. Nothing really, just haven't heard from mum and dad, she replied. Oh my God! There you go again dad and mum's pet. When will you learn to be independent? Look at me now, I spoke with mum and dad last two weeks and since then I haven't heard from them. Toyin told her. You can't understand, I'm feeling a kind of uneasiness inside of me, I don't just know how to describe it, but nevertheless, everything will be fine. Thanks, she said as she laid her head on her bed.

Its a Tuesday morning Mrs Oluchi who happens to be Omotara's schools principal sat quietly in her office working on her computer system as she receives a call. Hello ma! Good morning(shivering). Good morning Mrs Tade. How was your trip? I plan calling you after I'm done with what I am doing. And i hope you are fine? Because your voice sounds somehow. She replied. Is your television set on? She asked. No it is not. It escaped my mind, you know I don't play with news. But what is wrong with you? The principal asked.  Kindly switch it on ma, I want you to see something. Mrs Trade said. I hope everything is well? The principal asked

 Mrs Oluchi switched her Television set on and saw something that made her screamed Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!?? This can't be true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what actually went wrong. Why did she scream????
